Thank you for visiting our website which we hope meets your needs. Our goal is to be an informative point of contact for prospective residents, patients, and current residents.

We, as a residency, are also looking forward to the end of this academic year. This past year has presented its own challenges, to which our residents and faculty staff rose to the occasion along with the rest of our medical family. The third years are in a patient mode as they await anxiously news of where their first PCS will be following graduation. This is an exciting time, though also a nervous time as they begin to realize this is the end and soon will be released to be "on their own."

Over this past year, we had a successful fall retreat where we participated in many team building activities, as well as many fun activities together. Unfortunately, the weather turned on us during that time and there was quite a bit of rain. We adjusted fire and competed indoors on Rock Band, ping pong, card games. We also had an epic Bucketball experience in the rain. Our annual flag football game was amended to be a Bucketball game this year and we had a great time. (Bucketball is an awesome game that is legendary among the USUHS and HPSP students who are lucky enough to perform a rotation in Family Medicine with us).

We continue to have simulation time with our simulation lab and have started participating in training with our L&D friends working as a team and involving nursing and others in simulations. Much of our curriculum continues to be updated from our procedure rotation to continuity nursing home experience, to our weekly educational lecture curriculum.

Other events that have occurred this year so far include our annual progressive dinner. We again started out with a meal hosted by different faculty and the night cumulated with a dessert fest at another staff's home with announcement of the new Chief Residents for next year. The traditional gift exchange occurred there with many humorous gifts. We have also continued to have periodic movie nights where we get together to watch a movie in the theater and enjoyed such movies like Sherlock Holmes. The Super Bowl was celebrated at our program directors house this year with several fans within the residency as well as visiting medical students who were just too supportive of the Saints.

Our incoming class for next year was announced and we are happy they will be joining our family. It is always exciting to look forward and we believe there are great years ahead.
