Retirees under age 65 have the same TRICARE benefits as active duty except that they must pay an enrollment fee if they enroll in Prime.

Prime enrollment fees

- Payment can be on a quarterly or annual basis
- Enrollment fees cannot be refunded.
Active Duty military who are retiring and whose family members are currently enrolled in TRICARE Prime at a CRDAMC Primary Care Clinic must change to a civilian PCM from the Humana Military Health Services network. The network PCM listing is available at the TRICARE Service Center at Fort Hood.
TRICARE for Life
Retirees who are approaching age 65 and want to continue health care benefits under TRICARE for Life must sign up for Medicare Parts A and B. Medicare Part A pays for your inpatient hospital expenses and Medicare Part B covers outpatient health care expenses including doctor fees, laboratory tests and x-rays. Retirees must sign up for Medicare Part B by March 30 of each year to receive benefits after reaching age 65.
Dental Care
The Delta/Select Retiree Dental program is a new dental program available to retirees of all ages, both under and
over 65 and their spouses. The program is low-cost, and covers diagnostic and preventive procedures. To enroll,
