Welcome to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center's Gastroenterology Service web page. We are honored and privileged to provide superb gastroenterology medical care to military members and their dependents.
The Gastroenterology Service evaluates diseases of the stomach, intestines, esophagus, pancreas, biliary tract, and liver. We provide a variety of technically advanced services to treat a range of conditions, including gastrointestinal bleeding, anemia, Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis, colon polyps and cancer, diverticulosis and diverticulitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal reflux, pancreatitis, swallowing disorders, diarrhea and constipation. In addition, we can evaluate and treat a variety of liver disorders to include viral hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis, hemochromatosis, Primary Biliary cirrhosis (PBC), Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and cirrhosis.

Procedures
Gastroenterology procedures performed in the clinic include diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, upper endoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), esophagus dilation, esophageal motility, esophageal pH monitoring with the Bravo capsule, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG tube).
