Some helpful tips for class:
- Please arrive approximately 15 minutes early to your scheduled classes
- Your labor support person (or team) is welcome and encouraged to attend
- Feel free to bring snacks and drinks – just be sure to clean up after class
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Some moms like to bring a small pillow to help make themselves comfortable during class and breathing exercises
Breastfeeding Class
If you have decided to breastfeed, this group is for you! This two-hour class covers how to start breastfeeding, how your body makes milk, breastfeeding positions, how to overcome latch-on and other common setbacks, and an overview of breast pumps. This class meets twice a month on Wednesday from 9 - 11 a.m.
Location for Prepared Childbirth and Breastfeeding Classes:
Prepared Childbirth and Breastfeeding classes are held in the Education Auditoriums on the 2nd floor above the Emergency Department. The Education Auditoriums can only be accessed from the elevators closest to the Emergency Department.
Labor & Delivery Tour
A tour of the CRDAMC Labor & Delivery suites is held on Wednesday and Thursday from 3 - 4 p.m. It begins on the 2nd floor in the Mother Baby Unit waiting room. The tour will include both the Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby units. If you are enrolled in the Prepared Childbirth Class, we recommend trying to take the tour sometime during your three-week class.

Sibling Class
This one-hour class is held once a month. It is designed to prepare children who are four years and older for the arrival of a new baby and foster a positive adjustment mind-set. At least one parent needs to attend the class with the child/children. Please call the nurse educator to schedule this class at 254-288-8263.
We recommend that you register for these classes at your 24-week visit.
Please call 288-8109 or visit the Women's Health Center to register.
