Welcome to the Department of Radiology. As part of the continuing tradition of medical excellence at Darnall Army Medical Center, we take pride in offering a full range of diagnostic imaging. These services are available to our patients by referral from their ordering physicians. The Department of Radiology performs and interprets approximately 100,000+ studies per year. The Department serves as a training site for radiology technology students. The service features the latest in imaging technology.

The Diagnostic Radiology Service is divided into several sections, each directed by a radiologist specializing in that particular area. In addition to Diagnostic Radiology, these sections include Mammography, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography (CT), MRI, pediatric radiology, gastrointestinal radiology/fluoroscopy, musculoskeletal radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and bone densitometry andurology.

How can I get hard copies of films or studies on a CD?

x-ray of an injured hip

The radiology file room personnel can print hard copy film or burn studies to a CD. However, each request is handled on a case by case basis. CDs are the preferred method. The radiology file room phone number is 288-8324. The file room hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • CT and Ultrasound: 286-7178 (select option #1)
  • MRI: 286-7027
  • Mammograms and Breast Ultrasound: 288-8332
  • Fluoroscopy (Barium studies, HSG's): 288-8301
  • Nuclear Medicine: 288-8284
  • X-ray: No appoint needed. These exams are performed on a walk-in basis.
