Overview

Our mission of the military health system is to enhance our Nation's security by providing health care support for the full range of military operations and sustaining the health of military beneficiaries. Providing direct health care professionals, such as physicians and nurses, is complex. To help fill needs that cannot be satisfied through military and/or civilian staffs, direct care medical services contracts are issued to augment those required positions.

The contract procurement process requires extensive teamwork between the departments and the CORs. Through this teamwork, the requirement of each department is carefully analyzed and evaluated to determine the best procurement process for the department's requirement. Once the determination has been made, the CORs will begin the process to efficiently and effectively ensure that the requirement is awarded through the most feasible contract acquisition office.

Once a contract is awarded, continued communication between the departments and the CORs is of great importance. Together we can ensure that all terms of the contract are being adhered to, and are in the best interest of the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and the United States Government.
