The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
The mission of the Association is to improve animal and human health and advance the veterinary medical profession.
The objective of the Association shall be to advance the science and art of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health, biological science, and agriculture.
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)
The purpose of the American Animal Hospital Association is to:
- Enhance the abilities of veterinarians to provide quality medical care to companion animals
- Enable veterinarians to successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence
- Meet the public's needs as they relate to the delivery of small animal veterinary medicine.
