Overview

The Fisher House is a "home away from home" for service members & their families. The Fort Hood Fisher House provides temporary lodging for families of active duty, military retirees, and veterans undergoing treatment at medical treatment facilities in the area. The house has a warm, compassionate environment where families and caring friends can nurture one another in times of need. It offers families a clean, safe respite from the stress of worrying about loved ones. The home includes 7 private bedrooms and baths, with 2 handicapped accessible suites on the main floor. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room, and an inviting living room. The house was a gift to the Fort Hood community in 1996 from Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher of New York.

The Fisher House is located at Building 36015 Fisher Lane, on the corner of Santa Fe Drive and Wratten Drive, across the street from the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.
