Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center has outpatient pharmacies located in the hospital, on Fort Hood and in the local communities. Pharmacy services include the filling and refilling of prescription medications that are in the CRDAMC formulary.

Instructions / Example
- Completely fill out the drop–off envelope.
- For paper prescriptions and electronic prescriptions – ensure required information is on the prescription including the number of prescriptions and place in envelope.
- Place envelope in drop–off box.
Bring the patient's ID when you return to pick up the prescription.
Medications must be picked up within 7 days if dropping off.

MedSafe is a Convenient Option to Dispose of Expired or Unwanted Medications
The MedSafe is located at the Main Hospital pharmacy, Thomas Moore pharmacy, and Clear Creek pharmacy lobbies. Look for the blue medication disposal container to safely dispose of expired medications. This service is available any time the respective pharmacies are open.
Filling Your Prescriptions
Prescriptions are dispensed from Darnall pharmacy facilities without charge to military ID card holders (soldiers, family members, retirees and their family members).
Handwritten and Electronic Prescriptions
The pharmacies at the Clear Creek PX and Main Hospital are currently accepting handwritten prescriptions from all areas.
Those beneficiaries having an assigned medical home may bring their handwritten prescriptions to that specific clinic.
In order to expedite our soldier’s return to work, the pharmacies at Bennett, Monroe, & Thomas Moore are reserved to service those Active Duty Members assigned.
Handwritten Prescription Process:
To best assist all beneficiaries, all handwritten prescriptions must be dropped off in order to process your prescription. CRDAMC Pharmacies have two convenient options:
- Deliver handwritten prescription to the pharmacy window
- Pharmacy staff will pre-screen your prescription
- Any immediate issues and/or concerns will be noted at this time
- Prescription will be ready for pick-up two hours after being dropped off
- Deliver your handwritten prescription to the "Drop Off Box" located within the lobby of the Clear Creek PX Pharmacy. Prescriptions will be ready for pick-up the following business day.

CRDAMC Prescription Disposal:
A convenient blue disposal container called "MedSafe" provides beneficiaries the option to safely dispose of Expired or Unwanted medications. These MedSafe containers are located within the pharmacy lobbies at the Main Hospital, Thomas Moore, and Clear Creek PX. These disposal containers are available any time the respective pharmacies are open.
Self Care Medication Program
Beneficiaries may receive limited Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications after obtaining a Self-Care card for retiree/dependents or those Active Duty in uniform. The Self-Care card is granted after passing a short quiz which is accessible as part of the pharmacy self-care program within the CRDAMC Main website . List of medications available.
